Ryan Helmkamp, Senior Pastor
Ryan Helmkamp began his ministry here at Bethel in June 2020. Born and raised in Southern Illinois, Ryan became a believer while in college at Iowa State and after undergrad, served as a lay elder for a number of years at Lakeside Fellowship in Polk City, IA while owning and operating an industrial concrete company. After 10 years running the business Ryan and Kelsey decided to close the company and move their family to Springfield, MO so Ryan could attend seminary and pursue a masters of divinity with an emphasis in biblical counseling. Ryan and Kelsey love rural Iowa and are thrilled to be able to minister and serve at Bethel. They have 4 children: Jack, Lane Jesse and Kate.

Bryan Watts, Youth Pastor
Bryan is the newest addition to our staff as of July 2023.
In his own words:
“I’m the Youth Pastor. God has given me the passion to see the next generation changed forever by His saving grace through the work of the cross. I believe it is our responsibility to bring up the youth to be Great Commission minded because they are the future Church. Brandy and I are both from the same town in South Carolina, after high school we got married. I have always worked in heavy industrial industries; however, satisfaction was never found. We moved our family of 7 at the time to Alaska to fulfill a call on our life which was to serve Him in all that we do. I started at Alaska Bible College and focused on a Philosophy of Religion with an emphasis on Biblical teaching. It was through that time that youth ministry became my heart’s desire. Brandy and I are blessed to be here at Bethel, and we are thrilled to serve one another. We have 7 children: Alyssa, Avery, Hunter, Alyanna, Emily, Gracie and Evelyn. If you made it this far my favorite tv show is Hogan’s Heroes and the character must be Sergeant Shultz because I know nothing’.”
